Here is the reason why Nollywood actress Funke Akindele had a private secret wedding ceremony in London to Nigerian rapper JJC.
Olufunke Akindele is a Nigerian actress best known for her role as Jenifa in the Nigerian movies and TV show, Jenifa. She was also known for her famous fabulous wedding to Kenny Oyolede in 2012 which ended in divorce.
Early this year there were speculations and reports that Funke had found a new love and it was with Nigerian singer Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC yet no one could prove it for sure.
Last week, the couple exchanged vows on August 23 in a secret London wedding in the presence of her friends and family on her 39th birthday. Fans have also said she introduced herself as Mrs. Bello during a subsequent public appearance.
Usually, Nigerian celebrities make a big and loud celebration of their wedding ceremonies and this was what Funke did with her first wedding Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede. The wedding was public knowledge, celebrities attended and pictures were released to show the couple was married. However, that marriage lasted around 400 days only.
So, it makes sense that the Jenifa actress would choose a more intimate ceremony with only those she loves around to witness her second marriage.
According to an insider that talked to NETng,“She really just wanted the media to focus on her work, and stay off her personal life. And she made sure she didn’t contribute to that media feast, that she didn’t supply the leads that led to gossip and scandals.”
Her new husband JJC is already a father with three kids from three different women but this did not stop him from committing to the lovely Yoruba actress.
A source also said,“They wanted the best time to make the move, and it is clear why they went over to London, away from everyone. Funke wasn’t about to be burnt a second time.”
